Zimbabwean music lovers are in for a packed weekend of live entertainment as celebrated musician Kireni Zulu, alongside the Marabi Queens, takes his music to different venues in and around Harare from Thursday to Saturday.
The three-day entertainment programme promises a blend of live music, traditional Zimbabwean sounds and the distinctive Marabi flavour, with fans being invited to enjoy the performances at three different venues.
Thursday: Willies Sports Bar
The weekend entertainment gets underway on Thursday, October 1, at Willies Sports Bar in West Wood, opposite Kambuzuma High 2.
Kireni Zulu and the Marabi Queens are scheduled to take to the stage from 5pm until late, with free admission.
The organisers have also emphasised a drug-free entertainment environment, with the event poster carrying a clear “Say No to Drugs” message.
Friday: Mvenezwayo Sports Bar
The entertainment continues on Friday, October 2, when Mvenezwayo Sports Bar hosts Kireni Zulu and the Marabi Queens.
The Friday show is scheduled to start at 7pm and continue until late, offering music lovers another opportunity to catch the performers in a live setting.
The organisers are billing the night around the simple promise of “Good Music. Good Vibes. Good Times!”
Saturday: Musundagore Complex
The weekend reaches its Saturday climax on October 3 at Musundagore Complex in Chaona-Chiweshe.
Kireni Zulu and the Marabi Queens will headline the evening, with the programme also featuring a Jiti sensation, Sekuru Gudo of the Wanyara fame and Dancing Queens.
The Saturday show starts at 8pm and runs until late, with free admission once again being offered to patrons.
A weekend of live music
With performances spread across three consecutive days, the programme gives fans several opportunities to experience Kireni Zulu and the Marabi Queens live.
The shows also highlight the continued appetite for live Zimbabwean music in social spaces, bringing performers and audiences together outside the traditional concert setting.
For entertainment lovers looking for a music-filled weekend, the three-date programme offers a chance to move from West Wood on Thursday, to Mvenezwayo on Friday, before heading to Musundagore Complex on Saturday.
With free entry advertised across the events, the stage is set for a weekend where music, dancing and Zimbabwean entertainment take centre stage.
