Gospel music lovers and worshippers across Harare are preparing for an uplifting night of spiritual renewal as local gospel minister Joseph Nyakabau, the visionary behind Healing Music, prepares to unveil his fourth album, Ladder – Manera, on Saturday, 21 November at the Hellenic Club.
The album launch is anchored on the theme “Restoration Night of Worship”. The event promises more than a conventional album launch, offering a live worship experience centred on healing, hope and spiritual restoration.
The album title is derived from Genesis 28. Nyakabau said: “God gave me Genesis 28, where Jacob saw a ladder—Manera in Shona. A ladder connects earth to heaven. This album is about God restoring what was broken and giving us access again to climb to our destiny.”
The 10-track album was crafted over an intensive 18-month period of songwriting, studio work and spiritual reflection. The decision to record exactly 10 songs was intentional.
“The album has 10 tracks. I chose 10 because, biblically, 10 represents completeness and restoration. Each track represents a rung on the ladder to your restoration,” he said.
While his previous projects focused on personal worship, Ladder – Manera marks an evolution in sound. The title track, Ladder – Manera, remains the most personal song on the project, having been born out of Nyakabau’s own season of waiting and personal pain before evolving into a message of hope for others.
Attendees at the album launch will witness Nyakabau perform the entire 10-track album live for the first time, alongside popular hits from his previous projects.
Backed by a live band and a full praise team, the evening promises continuous praise, high-energy celebration and moments of prophetic worship.
The album will be available on major digital streaming platforms, including YouTube through Healing Music, Spotify, Apple Music and Boomplay.
Reflecting on what the milestone represents, Nyakabau described the launch as an “Ebenezer”—a testament to God’s continued faithfulness throughout his musical journey.
“The main goal is to heal. Healing Music is a ministry. My goal is for this album to bring healing and restoration in Zimbabwe and beyond. To everyone who has supported us from day one, come on 21 November, and let’s climb the ladder together,” said Nyakabau.
