Harare — The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) is promoting the inaugural ZimBho Purple Bloom, Pink Ribbons: Race in Colour event, which takes place today, Saturday, 24 October 2026, at Borrowdale Racecourse in Harare, combining horse racing, music, fashion and philanthropy.
The event coincides with Zimbabwe’s colourful jacaranda season and is expected to showcase the country’s sporting, cultural and entertainment offerings while supporting cancer awareness initiatives.
According to the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, the event reflects efforts to promote Zimbabwe as a destination where sport, culture and entertainment combine to create memorable experiences.
Music lovers attending the event will be treated to performances by popular Zimbabwean artists Jah Prayzah, Feli Nandi, Victor Kunonga and Shami Tuku, alongside thrilling horse racing and fashion displays.
The event also places philanthropy at the centre of its programme through support for Cancerserve, an organisation that assists people affected by cancer.
The ZTA is encouraging participants to embrace the event’s theme by dressing in purple and pink, colours associated with the Race in Colour experience.
The event is being marketed as part of the broader #ExperienceZimbabwe tourism campaign, which seeks to showcase the country’s diverse attractions and experiences.
The initiative also highlights the potential of sports tourism to bring together sporting activities, live entertainment and charitable causes, creating opportunities to attract both domestic and international visitors.
Tickets for the Diamond Enclosure are priced at US$25, while VVIP tickets cost US$100. Tickets are available through SahwiGate.
The event is being promoted under the hashtags #ExperienceZimbabwe, #NhakaYedu, #IlifaLethu, #OurHeritage, #ThisIsUs and #ZimBho.
