Up-and-coming gospel group Voices of Jesus last week launched a new gospel music album at Muchuzi Guest Lodge in Harare, in a colourful event that brought together gospel musicians, choral groups and worshippers.
The seven-track album, titled Ndamirira Kupenya, carries a message of faith, hope in Christ, dedication among believers and commitment to the work of the Son of God.
The album features seven tracks: Ndamirira Kupenya, Baba Nditumei, Govera, Mhuri Yangu, Solomon, Nyarara Kuchema and Changamire Weutsvene.
The songs explore themes of spiritual journeys, perseverance, faith, the rejection of fear and the pursuit of victory and spiritual purification.
The project also features collaborations with established gospel music groups and artists, including Mabvazuva Choral Group, Kutumwa Kwevatendi Choral Group, Moleen Masiya and Baba Gumbira.
The launch was sponsored by Northern Testing Laboratories (NTL) and featured performances from a wide range of gospel musicians and groups.
Among those who performed were Kutenda Kwevapositori, Apostle J. Siyapi, Metre-Band Kamukomana Kehosho, Chiedza Chavatsvene Choral Group, Chiedza Chedenga, Pastor C. Wenyasha Vhengere, Nazaretha Choral Group, Mary Zinhungwa, Apostle Nyoni, The Voice of Paul, Voice of Faith, Captain Marvellous and Mai Nyabadza.
The performances added colour, energy and powerful percussion to the launch, marking an important milestone in the journey of Voices of Jesus as the group seeks to expand its reach and take its music to communities across the country.
With its blend of spiritual messages and gospel collaborations, the album is expected to further establish Voices of Jesus in Zimbabwe’s gospel music industry.
