Popular traditional healer Sekuru Nyangatayani is set to host a star-studded birthday celebration at 007 Hide Out in Glendale, on September 25, with a line-up of musicians, entertainers and dance groups expected to provide live entertainment.
The annual event, dubbed the Birthday Bash, will celebrate the birthday of News Commander, aka Indaba Boss, and journalist Simbarashe Sithole, with the organisers promising an evening of music and entertainment.
The bash is scheduled to start at 6pm and run until late.
The entertainment line-up includes Franco Slomo, Wasu Dacoda, Chipo Muchegwa, Jack Matumbu, Gas G Zambia, Boom Betto, Jesa Africa, Tailor President, Jnr Hwinza and Nyangaz Dance Crew.
The bash will be hosted by MC Udzanai Gode, while DJs Liny ZW, Kalcon ZW and Jack Pukunyenye are listed among those set to keep the crowd entertained.
Organisers have also highlighted tight security and cold beer as part of the event arrangements.
With the event bringing together performers from different entertainment backgrounds, organisers expect the birthday celebration to provide a platform for live music, dance and social entertainment.
Speaking to The Blast, Sekuru Nyangatayani said the event was being held in honour of the work being done by journalist Simbarashe Sithole.
“This year I am hosting the annual Indaba Boss Birthday Bash in honour of the important work being done by our journalist Simbarashe Sithole,” he said.
“We are inviting everyone to come and celebrate with us.”
Nyangatayani is also known for his philanthropic work, including donating food and paying school fees for less-privileged members of the community.
This year, he has chosen a unique way of giving back through the birthday celebration.
The bash is an annual event that was previously hosted in Guruve. This year’s edition will, for the first time, be held in Glendale.
