The Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) said there have been a noted increase in water levels, with the national dams average capacity now at 74.5 percent.
Said ZINWA in a statement:
“Dam levels as of January 29, 2025. There is a marked improvement in water levels for dams in Masvingo Province where Lake Mutirikwi is now full and spilling while Lake Tugwi-Mukosi is now 77. 3% full,” read the statement.
“Other dams in the provinces which had been very low are also picking up with Manjirenji Dam rising by 19.8% since to January 22 to 40. 4%. Siya Dam which also augments Manjirenji in providing water to the Mkwasine Sugarcane Estates also rose by 10. 9% and is now 29. 7% full.
” Notable gains have also been witnessed in dams in the Mashonaland Central Province.
The national dam level average is now 74. 5%.”
