The Albino Charity Organisation of Zimbabwe (ALCOZ) has partnered with EmpowerBank Limited to improve access to financial services for persons with albinism, in a move aimed at promoting economic empowerment and improving livelihoods.
The partnership seeks to help persons with albinism access safe and secure loan facilities, creating opportunities for them to participate more actively in economic activities and pursue sustainable livelihoods.
ALCOZ said the initiative was part of broader efforts to promote financial inclusion and ensure that persons with albinism have access to opportunities that support their independence and economic well-being.
“Through partnerships like these, we continue working towards a more inclusive society where persons with albinism have access to opportunities that support their independence and economic well-being,” the organisation said.
The organisation said access to appropriate financial services could help persons with albinism establish or expand small businesses, invest in income-generating projects and improve their household incomes.
The partnership also highlights the importance of collaboration between financial institutions and organisations representing persons with albinism in addressing barriers to economic participation.
ALCOZ said partnerships of this nature were essential in advancing financial inclusion and ensuring that persons with albinism were not left behind in efforts to promote economic empowerment.
The organisation reiterated its commitment to creating opportunities that enable persons with albinism to live independently and improve their livelihoods.
