MHONDORO-MUBAIRA — Mhondoro-Mubaira residents have welcomed the renovation and official opening of a two-classroom block at Gonza High School in Ward 8, describing the development as a boost to education in the community.
The renovated classrooms on Friday, were officially opened by Mhondoro Mubaira Constituency legislator,Hon. Chamu Chiwanza under the leadership of Ward 8 Councillor Mudhambu.
According to information from the community, the building had been in a dilapidated state for several years and was no longer providing learners with a suitable environment for education.
Hon Chiwanza reportedly funded the rehabilitation using personal resources, resulting in the classrooms being restored to a safer and more conducive condition for learners.
The development is expected to benefit pupils and teachers at Gonza High School while contributing to efforts to improve educational infrastructure in Ward 8 and the wider Mhondoro-Mubaira community.
As part of the celebrations, Chiwanza also donated a cow for meat, adding a communal dimension to the occasion and giving residents an opportunity to celebrate the development together.
Community members expressed appreciation for the initiative, saying improved learning infrastructure was important in creating a stronger foundation for the future of local children.
The project was presented as an example of community-focused development and the broader principle that national development requires citizens to play an active role in improving their communities.
The occasion was marked by celebrations and expressions of support for Hon Chiwanza, Mhondoro-Mubaira and the community’s efforts to improve local infrastructure.
