Today, the sons and daughters of Africa rise in unity and revolutionary pride as we commemorate Africa Day — a historic reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and determination of African liberation heroes who fought tirelessly against colonialism, apartheid, oppression,⁵ and exploitation.

Africa Day is not merely a symbolic celebration. It is a revolutionary call for African unity, sovereignty, peace, and economic emancipation.

It reminds us that the liberation struggle continues in new forms — through the fight against poverty, underdevelopment, corruption, sanctions, neo-colonial interference, and economic inequality.
The Liberation War Victims Association proudly salutes the people of Zimbabwe and all African nations committed to defending peace, independence, and national sovereignty. We express profound gratitude to the Government of Zimbabwe and its leadership under His Excellency the President for the continued efforts toward peace maintenance, national stability, development, and good governance. Peace remains the greatest weapon for nation-building and sustainable development.

Zimbabwe’s enduring commitment to unity and stability continues to inspire the African continent and strengthens the vision of a peaceful and prosperous Africa envisioned by the founding fathers of Pan-Africanism.
As Africans, we must stand firmly against all forces that seek to divide the continent through violence, foreign manipulation, economic exploitation, tribalism, and hatred. Africa’s destiny belongs to Africans.

The continent possesses immense natural resources, youthful energy, revolutionary history, and intellectual capacity capable of transforming Africa into a global center of industrial growth, innovation, and human development.

Today, we proudly remember and salute the great Pan-African revolutionaries and liberation martyrs whose courage shaped the destiny of Africa. These fearless sons and daughters of the soil stood against colonial domination, racial oppression, economic exploitation, and imperialism in defense of African dignity and sovereignty.

We pay tribute to Patrice Lumumba, the revolutionary voice of African independence whose sacrifice became a symbol of resistance against neo-colonialism and foreign domination.

We honor Muammar Gaddafi, whose vision of African unity and economic independence inspired generations across the continent and strengthened the dream of a united Africa.
We salute Julius Nyerere, the teacher of African socialism and unity, whose leadership promoted liberation struggles and Pan-African cooperation throughout Southern Africa.

We remember Kenneth Kaunda, a founding father of African freedom who courageously supported liberation movements and defended African humanism, peace, and justice.

We honor Kwame Nkrumah, one of the greatest architects of Pan-Africanism, whose vision declared that the independence of African nations would remain incomplete without the total liberation and unity of Africa.

We salute Robert Mugabe, a liberation icon who dedicated his life to the struggle against colonial rule and the defense of Zimbabwe’s sovereignty, land, and independence.
We further honor Samora Machel, Thomas Sankara, Nelson Mandela, Ahmed Ben Bella, Amílcar Cabral, and countless African freedom fighters whose sacrifices secured the liberation of the African continent.

Their revolutionary spirit continues to guide Africa in the ongoing struggle for unity, peace, economic freedom, social justice, and true African independence. Their blood watered the tree of liberation, and their legacy shall live forever in the hearts of African people.
We therefore call upon African governments, liberation movements, youths, workers, traditional leaders, women, and civil society organizations to strengthen solidarity and continental cooperation for the advancement of African interests.

The African Union and all progressive African institutions must continue promoting peace, regional integration, trade, education, food security, and economic empowerment for all Africans.

To the youth of Africa: you are the guardians of the continent’s future. Defend the values of peace, discipline, patriotism, hard work, and African unity. Reject violence, drugs, corruption, and hatred. Embrace education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and nation-building. The next chapter of Africa’s liberation depends upon your vision and determination.

We also honor all liberation war veterans, victims, and freedom fighters across the continent whose sacrifices laid the foundation for African independence and dignity. Their resilience remains a guiding light for future generations.

On this Africa Day, let us renew our commitment to Pan-Africanism, unity, peace, justice, and economic freedom. Together, Africa shall rise stronger, united, and unstoppable.
Long Live Zimbabwe.
Long Live African Unity.
Long Live the Spirit of Liberation.

Honor to African’s liberation heroes , Africa must unite.
