It was an electrifying atmosphere at Mubaira Growth Point in Mhondoro Mubaira Constituency as the  community joined the nation in celebrating the Heroes Day Commemorations through an aura of musical excellence.
The musical gala which kicked off on Tuesday 11 August, 6 pm, spilled into the early hours of Wednesday,left an indelible mark in Mhondoro Mubaira Constituency.

Among the notable delegates who joined the vibrant crowds at the Heroes Gala were Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Deputy Minister Hon. Dr Omphile Marupi, Permanent Secretary Mr Nick Mangwana and ZBC Chief Executive Officer Mr Sugar Chagonda and Mhondoro Mubaira Constituency legislator Hon Chamu Chiwanza.

The crowd was treated to a high class musical entertainment by Allen Chimbetu, Police band, Chief Hwenje, Andy Muridzo, Simon Mutambi, Dorcas Moyo, Madhuve Sasha, LMG choir, Peter Moyo, Romeo Gasa, Baba Harare, Agatha Muridzwa, Atenda Chinx, Mzoe 7, Manine, Clemence Magwaza, Mark Ngwazi, DT Bio Mudhimba, Jah Signal among others.

Speaking to The Blast, Mhondoro Mubaira Constituency community paid tribute to President Emmerson Mnangagwa for bringing the musical gala to their door steps.

The community also showed their gratitude to the area legislator Hon Chamu Chiwanza whom they said is working hard to develop the Constituency in line with the President ‘s Vision 2030 Initiative.

“We are grateful in that as Mubaira community, we have for the first time hosted this important musical gala.The first battle which ushered into the advent of the second Chimurenga was at Chinhoyi, in 1966.. ironically in our province, Mashonaland West.
We would like to thank President Mnangagwa for this opportunity to host the musical gala as Mashonaland West province,” said Mercy Chiromo.

“May I take this opportunity to thank our MP, Hon Chamu Chiwanza for the developmental projects he is undertaking in the Constituency.
I am a vendor, today I have made high sales through this gala.Hon Chiwanza is doing a lot in empowering the informal sector in Mhondoro Mubaira,,” said Mayor Savanhu.

It was a hype and buzz of activity at Mubaira Growth point as informal traders took advantage of the milestone occasion to make a kill.
As early as the morning of Tuesday, the growth point was busy and witnessed a high in sales.

“I ran out of stock in alcohol and drinks…this momentous occasion boosted our sales,” said a businessman at the growth point who requested anonymity.

The annual Heroes Gala is a major national event broadcast live on ZBC TV to celebrate Zimbabwe’s living and fallen liberation heroes.

Decentralizing the gala to growth points and rural districts brings high-profile national entertainment directly to local communities.
