The Zimbabwe National Army(ZNA), through Brigadier General Kenson Carlos Dube, officially handed over Maneta Civil Registry Sub Office to Buhera District after construction by the army engineers squadron.

The event was graced by senior government officials who include the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolutuon Hon Advocate Misheck Mugadza, Buhera District Development Coordinator(DDC), Buhera Rural District Council Chief Executive Officer, Rural District Council Chairman Mr Thomas Matsenhura Civil Registry staff, political leadership from the ruling party Zanu PF and traditional leaders led by Chief Nyashanu.

Speaking in his keynote address, the guest of honour, Brig Gen KC Dube, who is also the Commander if 3 Infantry Brigade said the handing over of the Maneta Civil Registry Sub Office was in sync with Vision 2030 whose major goal is the transformation of Zimbabwe into a upper-middle-income economy.

“The handing over and commissioning of this office is fully aligned with His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Dr. ED Munangagwa’s Vision 2030 whose objective is to transform Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy by ensuring equitable access to quality public services,” he said.

Brig Gen Buhera noted that the successful completion of the offices, through the community involvement and developmental partners is testament to the government clarion call of leaving no one and no place behind, decentralisation of services,and the embodiment of ” a nation is built by it’s own philosophy people” philosophy.

“This occasion is a significant milestone in the decentralisation of government services and demonstrates our government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that no citizen is left behind in accessing public services. This facility is not merely a government building, it is a shining testimony of what can be achieved when communities, government and development partners work together towards a common goal.It embodies the philosophy of “a nation is built by it’s own people,” he said.

Meanwhile, Buhera Central Constituency legislator Honourable Sam Matema who was the host thanked members of the community for their in involvement since the birth of the project, development partners, former Member Of Parliament Dr. Matthew Gijima Nyashanu and the Zimbabwe National Army for their sacrifices and labour of love.

“It would be remiss of me If I do not acknowledge and thank the work by was done by my predecessor Dr Matthew Gijima Nyashanu Development work is like a relay, so he ran his race and passed on the baton to in 2023.We must celebrate the work which was started for us after the community made the initiative in moulding bricks,provision of labour,the Woman Action Group(WCG) purchased building materials while World Vision Zimbabwe chipped to purchase the required materials to tie up the loose ends not forgetting other individuals who supported this noble initiative. Thank you all for your labour of love and sacrifice,” he said.

The Maneta Civil Registry Sub Office was built after communited from eight wards that make up Buhera Central Constituency came together, consulted, and identified Maneta as a Central location.
Having identified the location they mobilised locally available resources such as bricks and sand.The then legislator Dr Matthew Gijima provided the initial funding before his successor Hon Sam Matema was handed over the baton in 2023.
Development partners Women Action Group(WAG)and World Vision Zimbabwe came on board by providing building material and interior fittings that enabled the building to reach completion.
