The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) has intensified tourism investment in USA with over 50 tourism stakeholders attending a marketing event held in Washington DC.

The milestone event which will go a long way in marketing Zimbabwe as the best tourism zone in the world was attended by ZTA Chief Executive Officer, George Manyaya who represented Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon Barbara Rwodzi.

Said ZTA in a statement:

“Destination Zimbabwe reinforced its presence in the lucrative United States market through a strategic branding and destination marketing event in Washington, D.C., attended by more than 50 Travel Agencies, Tour Operators and Tourism stakeholders. Officiated on behalf of the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Hon Barbara Rwodzi, represented by the Chief Executive Officer of the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, Dr George Manyaya, the engagement enhanced Tourism collaboration with the American travel trade and strengthened Zimbabwe’s destination positioning in its largest long-haul source market.

” Through a destination presentation and promotional video, participants were introduced to Zimbabwe’s diverse tourism products, including its five UNESCO World Heritage Sites, world-class Safari experiences, Cultural and Heritage Tourism , Gastronomy , the Eastern Highlands and the country’s renowned peace and warm hospitality. Delegates were also invited to participate in the forthcoming Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo, Zimbabwe’s premier Tourism business, networking and investment platform.”

Addressing delegates, Dr George Manyaya underscored that the United States remains Zimbabwe’s largest long-haul source market and encouraged the travel trade to capitalise on growing demand by developing compelling multi-destination itineraries that position Zimbabwe as the gateway to Southern Africa.

He highlighted the country’s international accolades, reinforcing Zimbabwe’s status as one of Africa’s most attractive and competitive Tourism destinations.

Welcoming participants, according to ZTA, Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the United States of America, His Excellency David Hamadziripi, invited delegates to visit Zimbabwe and experience the country’s warmth, friendliness and renowned hospitality firsthand, while calling on the travel trade to partner with Destination Zimbabwe in telling the Zimbabwean story to the world under the destination brand, “Come and Experience Zimbabwe.”

The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority launched a North American roadshow in Atlanta as part of a joint campaign across six U.S. cities and two Canadian cities. The campaign highlights growth in U.S. visitors and promotes new travel itineraries.
