The Zimbabwe National Organization of Associations and Residents Trust (ZNOART) has proposed to tour the Geo Pomona Waste Management Project in a bid to evaluate and enhance community engagement and education on waste management practices.
In a letter addressed to Geo Pomona Chief Executive Chairman, Delish Nguwaya, ZNOART National Chairman, Shalvar Chikomba said the proposed tour will assist residents identifying areas that need improvement and enhance knowledge sharing.

“Reference is made to the partnership which you have with the City of Harare and Government to provide better waste management systems for the benefit of residents to the city of Harare.
As representatives of Residents, ZNOART plays an oversight role on service delivery issues and these public private partnerships. It is our duty to get first-hand information for the benefit of our residents, hence the need to always assess progress, checks and challenges on great projects like this one.
“We hereby request a re-tour of your waste management project in Pomona, Harare.
Our organization is committed to promote sustainable waste management practices and improving the environment in Zimbabwe in support of our President HE ED Mnangagwa’s
attainment of Vision 2030.
“The re-tour will enable us to assess the project’s progress since our last visit when you launched it, identify areas for improvement, and explore opportunities for collaboration and knowledge
sharing. We believe that this exercise will help us to:
– Evaluate the project and its effectiveness of current waste management strategies
– Identify best practices and areas for improvement
– Enhance community engagement and education on waste management practices.”
ZNOART is proposing the tour to take place on 16 December.
“We propose that the re-tour takes place on Tuesday 16th December 2025 from 10am to 1:00pm.
We would appreciate it if you could provide us with a guided tour of the facility, including the waste sorting and processing areas, recycling facilities, and any other relevant aspects of the project.
“Our Residents delegation will comprise of ZNOART National and Harare Provincial leadership, all ZNOART Harare Districts and ward Area Coordinators for the 45 wards in Harare, and up to 30 media houses which we are going to invite . We would also want to invite inline government departments and ministries to attend.
Therefore may, you plan for plus 100 people.
