Lusaka Zambia- As Zambians set to hold their general elections this year in August , which comprises of Presidency, Members of Parliament, Councillors and Council chairs. Political parties are in dire of selecting their candidates who will be kin to favourites and push for victory.
Zambia’s former ruling party Patriotic Front (PA) will be having their inter party elections tomorrow 28 February 2026 to choose their candidates that will represent them come August general elections. Inter party fighting has begin to rise as the party supporters and the executives are accusing some of their members to be allied to UPND led by President Hakainde Hichilema.
This comes after some of the party candidates for tomorrow’s elections have come out supporting President Hakainde Hichilema.
At the center of the controversy is some of the members including Hon Given Lupinda and Hon Miles Sampa a former Health Minister who’s is member of PF party and a candidate for tomorrow’s election believed to be a close ally to UPND Leader President Hakainde Hichilema. Miles was also said to be impositioned to be PF Leader by President Hakainde Hichilema in the last disputed convention in October 2023.
Speaking to this publication demanding anonymity some of the party members they are said to backing Eng Chanda Katotobwe a member of Parliament for Luapula Constituency in Lunga district.
“Am having Faith in Eng Chanda , I have worked with him during the late President Lungu and the late President Sata he is a well devout man simple and he does his job very professional “.
Eng Katotobwe a party’s favourite a member of Parliament for Luapula Province in Zambia hold a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in Construction Management, he also servers in the Parliamentary Portifolio on Media and Information Communications Technology so as also in the committee Energy, Water Development and Tourism to mention but a few.
