Mutare – Artists in Manicaland have been given an opportunity to register with the Zimbabwe Council of Copyrights (ZICCO) for just US$5 under a promotional drive aimed at expanding copyright protection and support services for creatives.

The special offer, which runs until 10 November 2026, is part of efforts to bring more artists into a protected creative community where their intellectual property, welfare and professional interests are safeguarded.

Operating under the theme “Protecting Creativity, Powering The Future,” the initiative seeks to encourage artists to formalise their membership and access services designed to protect their work and support their livelihoods.

ZICCO said registered members will benefit from royalties generated from the use of their creative works, funeral cover, legal cover for access to legal advice and support, medical aid, and other professional and welfare services to help them navigate the challenges of the creative industry.

The discounted fee is expected to allow creatives who were previously unable to join to access its services and become part of a wider network of protected artists.

The organisation has urged artists across Manicaland to take advantage of the promotion before it expires, saying registration is a critical step towards securing their rights.

Artists interested in joining can register through http://www.zicco.org or contact ZICCO on +263 711 371 315-9.
