ZIONIST church leaders have bemoaned mushrooming associations that continue to undermine the work of the church in the country, African Zionist Churches Association (AZCA) President, Musavengane Tahwa(pictured) has said.
Dubious church associations have come like sheep in wolf-clothing, stalking unsuspecting congregants across Christian sects in country.
Addressing Bishops and church leaders in the Zionist bracket of churches at a recent AZCA meeting in Kadoma, Mashonaland West, Tahwa bemoaned activities of people with sinister motives, disguising themselves as God-fearing people, but waiting to pounce on unsuspecting believers to make money.
“Patron, Mr Jimayi Muduvuri, I want to bring it your attention that most prospective members of the AZCA ensemble shy away from joining progressive associations due to past encounters with thieves that disguised as believers, but only to dupe us at the end.
“However, we are confident that AZCA as a member of the Zimbabwe Allied Churches Council (ZACC), will benefit and continue to spread the word of God with you as our patron as we are confident in your leadership.
“AZCA is indeed destined for greater heights under your able leadership,” said Tahwa.
The association also took the initiative to announce its Board of Advisors and National Executive Board.
“We are moving around the provinces gathering and forming our structures.
“We have held consultations with Bishops and other leaders in Zion churches as this entity belongs to every believer.
“We spoke to many people and i am glad to inform everyone gathered here that some of them are already working on the ground,” he added.
AZCA membership is drawn from Zion churches from the four corners of the country.
