The Mining and Technical Exhibitions (MTE) is bringing its Mining, Engineering, Construction and Mineral Processing (MECP) combo tour to Zimbabwe this August, with exhibitions set for Mhondoro-Ngezi and Gweru.
The first expo will be held on 18 August 2026 at Mulota Hill Golf Course in Mhondoro-Ngezi, while the second exhibition will take place on 20 August 2026 at Cecil John Rhodes School in Gweru. Both exhibitions will start at 12pm.
The expos are free of charge, although participants are encouraged to bring their work identification cards for ease of access. Registration will also be conducted for record-keeping purposes.
Speaking to The Blast, MTE Director Andrew Macnamara said Zimbabwe’s diverse mineral endowment continues to make the country an important player in Africa’s mining sector.
“Zimbabwe has one of the continent’s most diverse mineral endowments. Mining continues to be one of the country’s largest economic sectors, contributing about 13–14.5% of GDP and accounting for more than 75% of export earnings,” said Macnamara.
He said Zimbabwe is a leading producer of gold, platinum group metals (PGMs), chrome and lithium, while also producing coal, nickel, diamonds, copper, iron ore and other industrial minerals.
“Zimbabwe is positioning itself as a key supplier of critical minerals needed for the global energy transition, supported by policies promoting local mineral beneficiation and value addition,” he said.
In support of the continued growth of the sector, MTE is inviting mining and industrial professionals to attend the exhibitions for a day of networking, technology demonstrations and business engagement.
“The expos are aimed at bringing industry-specific solutions directly to mining and industrial hubs of this region. The shows are tailored to deliver practical, on-the-ground solutions as the mining industry continues to evolve and the need to adapt grows.
“There will be a showcase of the latest innovations, expertise and opportunities across the mining industry,” said Macnamara.
MTE has been hosting high-impact exhibitions for more than 30 years, bringing practical solutions to the mining industry through carefully selected suppliers and technology providers.
In an industry where relationships are built on performance and trust, the exhibitions provide more than just visibility. They create opportunities for meaningful dialogue, immediate feedback and the development of solutions tailored to the operational needs of mining companies.
