Members of the Lions Club of Harare City yesterday convened a strategic meeting with Past District Governor Lion Clever Mugadza to discuss plans to revive the club and strengthen its service footprint.
PDG Lion Clever Mugadza took time to explain Club, District, and International dues structures and provided guidance on governance to ensure the club’s sustainability.
As the “Mother Club” of Lions in Harare, there was strong concern and commitment from all members to revive activities and restore the club’s legacy of service.
Dr. Lion Cathy emphasized the need to secure more District support to enable the club to serve more communities across Harare.
The meeting also received a boost from new membership. A Lion transferring from Triangle Lions Club pledged his support, saying:
“I will use my experience from Triangle to bring more members to the Club.”
The meeting further celebrated new community leadership within the club. Lion Bigboy Madzivanzira was recently appointed CAN (CBR) Africa Network Zimbabwe Representative.
This appointment highlights how visible and participative Harare City Lions are in national health and disability initiatives.
PDG Lion Mugadza expressed confidence that Lions Club of Harare City will be serving more communities in the coming months.
Following the meeting, the team visited beneficiaries and handed over donations of food packs and essential supplies.
One of the recipients at the Home said:
“We are very thankful of the support 🙏 we will write an official letter to thank Lions for serving this home.”
