Gweru philanthropist and River Valley Group of Companies Chief Executive, Ambassador Smelly Dube has repaid the kindness of a group of women and men who visited her while she was admitted in hospital by donating an assortment of groceries as a token of appreciation.
Dube fell ill five years ago and when she was in hospital a group of 51 men and women visited her and prayed for her. The group is already on her charity organisation’s list of beneficiaries.
The River Valley boss who called the group her “All Weather Friends” said she was touched by their compassion and felt she should give them a token of appreciation.
“We are all humans and at times we fall sick, sometimes we have some misfortunes that befall us. But it is during these trying times that we meet friends like you who come to visit and be in solidarity with us,”Amb Dube said.
She said the visit gave her strength during a difficult time and the donation was a way of thanking them for their love and support.
Margaret Maphosa, who led the group said they would continue to pray for Amb Dube and her company’s philanthropic and humanitarian work.
“We pray for the blessings, we pray for her company to continue to grow so that they can continue to work with the community,”said Maphosa.
