In a shocking incident a 35 year old father attempted to rape his 14 year old daughter in Bulawayo.
The father who cannot be named for ethical reasons appeared before Bulawayo regional magistrate Shingirai Mutiro.
Mutiro slapped the father with a 15 year jail term after he pleaded guilty to the charge.In his plea of guilty the father said he was possessed when he committed the crime.
“Your worship l do not know what got in to me l was possessed please forgive me,” the father said.
The court heard that on May 16 around 10 pm the father was seated with his three children on the blankets while watching a movie from his mobile phone in the kitchen hut.
Two of his children fell asleep and the complainant got in the blankets with her siblings.
The father removed his trousers and forcibly removed the minor’s skin tight before closing her month with his hand so that she does not scream.
When he attempted to rape her his wife entered the room and caught him panties down.
A police report was filed leading to the arrest of the convict.
