All roads will lead to the Castle Tankard final horse race final fields tournament to be be held Saturday, 9 May, 2026 at Borrowdale Race Course in Harare.

The race follows the unveiling of the final fields acceptance programme held Tuesday, 28 April, 2026 hosted by Mashonaland Turf Club (MTC) at the same venue. The race will see at least 20 horses competing for the race one ,2000 metres contest with a total price of $50 000. The first prize winner will walk away with $25 000,second prize $12 000,third prize $7000,fourth prize $4500 and fifth prize winner walking away with $1500.

Kevin Fallon, MTC Chairman said on the unveiling day that the proceedings held for the final acceptance started the official proceedings for the 66th running of the castle tankard, the oldest sponsored horse race in Africa. Fallon added that MTC, Natbrew and Castle Tankard are an association that have stood the test of time.

He thanked Delta Corporation and Natbrew for their continued support. The unveiling event marked the allocation of odds and opening of betting to the public. Delta Corporation Marketing Director, lrimayi Muzorewa said Castle Lager is proud to continue to be a long standing partner of horse racing in Zimbabwe and their commitment to it is not just sponsorship, but also elevating communities within which they operate.

Muzorewa said guided by their 2026 theme:Live it,Feel it,Share it, they are inviting all Zimbabweans and consumers of their product to immerse themselves in the castle experience.
