The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) Correctional Lions men’s tug-of-war team reached the final of the 2026 Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Tug-of-War Tournament in Bulawayo last week after competing against 25 teams in the Gold Star-sponsored competition.
The team is preparing for the Tug-of-War World Cup scheduled for September in South Africa.
The Lions beat several leading sides en route to the final, including Black Rhinos, before losing narrowly to Border Timbers of Mutare in the decider.
The ZPCS women’s team also competed in the tournament, reaching the quarter-finals in a field of 25 teams.
The result caps a strong run for the men’s side, which leads the Harare Province League.
