Following the heavy rains  that are falling in the country, some dams have begun to spill, with the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) stating that the national dams  level average now stands at 65.1 percent.

Read ZINWA statement:

“Antelope Dam in Maphisa, which supplies water for domestic use to Maphisa and irrigation water to Arda Antelope Estates started spilling yesterday as the current rains continue to have a positive impact on water levels in the dams. As of January 17, 2025, the national dam level average had risen to 65. 1% which is a 4.04% increase since January 10, 2025. The number of dams that are filling up and spilling has also increased. The dam level average however remains lower than the 78% expected during this time of the year and water users are encouraged to use the available water quite efficiently.”
