SURFACING works are now underway on the Seke Road Rehabilitation and Widening Project, marking another visible milestone in efforts to improve road capacity, safety and connectivity.
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Development said progress was continuing on the ground, with the latest works representing another step towards completing the rehabilitation and widening of the key transport corridor.
According to the ministry, the project is being implemented to improve road capacity and enhance the movement of motorists, public transport operators and other road users along the Seke Road corridor.
The upgraded road is also expected to improve connectivity between Harare and surrounding communities while supporting the movement of people and goods.
The ministry said the ongoing works reflected the Government’s continued focus on infrastructure development, with progress being made kilometre by kilometre.
The surfacing stage is one of the most visible phases of the project and is expected to transform sections of the road as construction advances.
The Seke Road project forms part of broader efforts to rehabilitate and modernise Zimbabwe’s road network, with improved transport infrastructure regarded as critical to economic activity and safer travel.
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Development said construction would continue as work progresses towards completion of the project.
