The Zimbabwe National Youth and Paralympic Games have secured a major connectivity boost after technology solutions provider Dandemutande partnered with the Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) as the event’s Official Connectivity Partner.
The Games, which return after a six-year absence, will be held in Marondera, Mashonaland East Province, from August 12 to 26, bringing together young athletes from all 10 provinces.
Dandemutande will deploy 10 Starlink kits across 10 sites and provide 1TB of data capacity to support officials, administrators and members of the media throughout the Games.
Sports and Recreation Commission Director General Allen Mavunga said reliable connectivity would be crucial to the administration and coverage of the event.
“The Zimbabwe National Youth and Paralympic Games are about creating opportunities, telling the stories of our young athletes, and connecting Zimbabweans through sport.”
“Reliable connectivity is essential in ensuring efficient Games administration and allowing the inspiring journeys of our athletes to reach audiences across the country and beyond,” Mavunga said.
Dandemutande chief executive officer Never Ncube said the company’s involvement was about more than sponsorship.
“For us, this partnership is not simply a sponsorship; it is a deliberate investment in Zimbabwe’s future.”
Ncube said sport had the power to “unite communities, unlock opportunity and give young people the confidence to pursue excellence”, while supporting talent, inclusion and resilience.
The connectivity will enable media professionals to transmit stories, images and updates in real time, while supporting communication between Games administrators and venues.
It will also facilitate live coverage of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and Culture Night.
