Labour Aspects Zimbabwe has announced plans to roll out a year-long Cyber Security Awareness Training Programme in 2027, aimed at equipping employees with practical skills to identify, prevent and respond to cyber threats while strengthening data protection and workplace security.
The programme, scheduled to run from January to December 2027, seeks to promote a security-conscious workforce by raising awareness of emerging cyber risks and helping organisations safeguard their employees, information and business operations.
Under the initiative, participants will receive training on key cybersecurity issues, including password management and access control, phishing and social engineering, data protection and privacy, malware and ransomware, as well as safe internet and cloud usage.
Labour Aspects Zimbabwe said the training was designed to help employees understand the growing cyber threats facing modern workplaces and develop practical skills to prevent, detect and respond to potential security breaches.
The programme is open to all employees, from boardroom executives to frontline workers, recognising that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility across all levels of an organisation.
The initiative also seeks to help businesses protect sensitive information, maintain their reputations and create safer working environments through improved digital security awareness.
With businesses and institutions increasingly relying on digital platforms to conduct their operations, the training comes at a time when cyber threats, including phishing attacks, data breaches and ransomware, continue to present significant risks to organisations.
Labour Aspects Zimbabwe is encouraging organisations to invest in employee training as part of broader efforts to strengthen workplace safety and business resilience.
The organisation is operating under the message: “People Secure, Business Stronger”, while emphasising that a security-conscious workforce is essential for building safer workplaces and a stronger business environment.
