The National Social Security Authority (NSSA), in partnership with the Insurance and Pensions Commission (IPEC) and other industry stakeholders, conducted a medical outreach programme in Chiredzi District, Masvingo Province, targeting elderly people aged 55 years and above as well as road accident victims.
The programme provided free medical check-ups and treatment to vulnerable community members as part of efforts to improve access to healthcare services.
The outreach was conducted in collaboration with the Insurance Council of Zimbabwe (ICZ), Zimbabwe Association of Pension Funds (ZAPF), First Mutual Health, Nyaradzo Group, Life Offices Association of Zimbabwe and other participating institutions.
In a statement, NSSA said the initiative was designed to extend healthcare services to elderly people and road accident victims who needed medical attention.
“All elderly persons aged 55 years and above and road accident victims are invited,” NSSA said in its public notice ahead of the outreach programme.
The medical outreach covered four venues in Chiredzi District between November 2 and 3, 2026.
On November 2, medical teams visited Bomba Primary School in Ward 16, Chiredzi West, and Samba Primary School in Ward 17, Chiredzi West.
The programme continued on November 3 at Nyahanga Primary School in Ward 4, Chiredzi West, and Manhinga Primary School in Ward 24, Chiredzi North.
The medical services were provided between 8am and 4pm at each venue.
The initiative brought together social security, insurance and pension industry players in a collaborative effort to promote community health and improve access to essential medical services.
NSSA said the outreach programme reflected its commitment to supporting the wellbeing of communities through partnerships with various industry stakeholders.
