There was drama at Simona Farm in Bindura after a woman assaulted her husband’s alleged girlfriend before being convicted by the Bindura Magistrates’ Court.

Varaidzo Timire escaped a custodial sentence after she was sentenced to 350 hours of community service for assaulting 18-year-old Tsitsi Naru.

Prosecutor Shiella Maribha told the court that on August 25, Timire was approached by her husband’s sister, who was accompanied by Naru, in an attempt to resolve a love triangle involving Timire’s husband.

However, the situation turned violent when Timire allegedly became angry, picked up a stone and assaulted Naru before biting her on the face and further attacking her with open hands.

Naru sustained injuries and was subsequently medically examined.

Timire was later arrested and brought before the court, where she was convicted and sentenced to perform 350 hours of community service.
