Mhondoro Mubaira Constituency House of Assembly member Hon Chamu Chiwanza, today donated 168 bicycles and rice to women in Mhondoro Mubaira from part of Constituency Development Fund.

Addressing women at Mubaira Growth Point, Thursday, Chiwanza said the bicycles which are sellable will assist women to kick-start women empowerment programmes.

“The 168 bicycles will be distributed to each of the 21 wards with each ward getting 8… I sourced them from the Constituency Development Fund.
Can I however stress that I did not source the bicycles for women to bike, but my aim is that they sell them to the local community and proceeds will go towards income generating projects such as poultry and market gardening.
Women who prove to be successful in income generation, I will give $US 2000 each for them to sustain their projects,” said Hon Chiwanza.
He added:
“The rice I have channelled to you will assist you in having some food at community level,” he said.

Hon Chiwanza urged women to continue supporting President Mnangagwa’ s Vision 2030 Mantra, following the successful passing of Constitutional Amendment Bill in House of Assembly and Senate.

” I would like to urge you women to continue to support the President’ s Vision 2030 Mantra which is meant to promote modernisation and usher in development.As you are now aware, the Constitutional Amendment Bill Number 3 has been passed, it is your prerogative as women to support President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the ruling party.”

Hon Chiwanza urged women not to be bought by some individuals who are anti progress.

“I know that some of you are being bought by airtime bundles to destabilize the party’s developmental projects.Let us stay focused and remain loyal to the party”.

The gathering was held ahead of Zanu PF ‘s national cell day slated on Saturday 27 June.
