Harare – Heal Us Zimbabwe has launched a nationwide Drug and Substance Abuse Awareness Walkathon aimed at mobilizing communities to tackle substance abuse and support recovery.

The campaign runs from 26 June to 19 July 2026. Walkers will move from Beitbridge to Harare under the theme “Together We Rise, United We Heal.”

Founder Columbus Tapiwa Mushore, who is also a drug and substance abuse survivor, said the walkathon will be led by three team members. He is calling on stakeholders, well wishers, and churches to support the initiative with donations in cash or kind to help the team accomplish the campaign.

“We are walking for every family affected by drugs,” Mushore said. “We need support from all corners of society to make this journey count.”

Organisers say the initiative has four goals: raise awareness about drug and substance abuse, support recovery for those affected, strengthen communities, and build a drug-free Zimbabwe.

The campaign carries the message “One Step. One Voice. One Nation.” Heal Us Zimbabwe is inviting individuals, schools, churches, and community groups to join the walk or contribute to the effort.
