Masvingo based clergyman, Prophet Lovemore Chevure has called Prophet Makandiwa’s $1 million bonty challenge as fake and unreasonable as the registration process was unrealistic.

In an interview with The Blast, Prophet Chevure of the Prophetic Grace International Church said it was sad to note that some church leaders were barred from participating in the challenge at the last minute.
“It was unfortunate that some church leaders were told that the registration deadline was slated for 12 midday today only for them to be told that they can’t register. What was the purpose of registration yet he had invited people including us clergymen to his church?”.
“He invited us to church today, meaning that all who came to his church were supposed to participate. When he announced the challenge, Makandiwa said those willing to participate were supposed to come to his church on Sunday but only to shift goal posts..that was a fake invite.”
Prophet Chevure added:
“Of all the so called prophets who participated in the challenge, they are fake as we don’t know their background and where they come from..The House of the Lord is not for testing powers but a place of worship.”

Prophet Chevure questioned why pastors Prophet Makandiwa church were not allowed to participate in the challenge.
“There were not allowed to participate because they know their master’ s ‘tricks’,Prophet Chevure alleged.
“That’s Feja feja nothing profound at all. Wise man and women didn’t go to be embarrassed.
The purpose of the prophecy is to edifying. How does this edify the saints?
All he wanted was relevance now he got.Wanga atonhora uye ava apera mukuru uya chiporofita chakatama paya since the days he said his God father in Ghana has a place in the heaven kingdom and that he corrects God.
Mukaona vanhu vanozviti vanhu vaMwari kana vakuita veja veja muimba yaMwari. On a Sunday musi wekurumbidza musiki, haaaa pashata.Tinenge tiri kutingamirirwa nemapofu .Kudenga kuchanotsva vanhu zvekurevesa.”

No immediate comment could be obtained from Prophet Makandiwa church.

There was no winner in Makandiwa’s $1 million ‘prophetic’ challenge – Despite an initial surge of interest, no one has walked away with Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa’s promised $1 million reward in his much-publicized spiritual powers challenge.

Makandiwa, known for his self-styled prophetic abilities, had thrown down the gauntlet to fellow prophets, traditional healers (sangomas), and ordinary people, inviting them to prove their supernatural abilities. The challenge was simple: correctly reveal what he had in his pocket.

However, they all failed or were shown the wrong things.

Prophet Makandiwa had six items in his pocket, including a test kit and binoculars.

All participants were given a paper to write down what they were shown in the spirit.

Not a single one got it correct.

Makandiwa claimed the competition was designed to expose fake spiritual figures in Zimbabwe, offering to fly in challengers at his own expense—though with the condition that they reimburse him if they failed. “If anyone can prophesy and if there is a witch doctor who can see, who gets told things by demons, we can arrange for you to come here on Sunday,” he had boldly declared.

A staggering 700 people initially expressed interest, but when the event commenced, only 20 stepped forward to take part in the so-called Prophetic Cup Clash. Among them were five female seers. However, as the challenge progressed, some participants withdrew, with a few even claiming they had already foreseen their failure before arriving.

Makandiwa had pledged to reward any successful contender with $1 million, though he openly admitted he did not have the money and would need to borrow it if necessary. “I don’t have the money, but we will sign an agreement, and you can sue me. It’s not a joke,” he insisted.
