Some residents in the Core Houses section in Turf, Mhondoro Ngezi, say they are concerned over the increase of theft cases and are urging authorities in the area to take mitigatory measures before the situation goes out of hand.
Some residents said the authorities must ensure that street lights work during the night before they lose more valuables.
“I lost some clothes that were hanging on the washing line, while my neighbour lost his rabbits.
Measures need to be taken as the situation might get out of hand as we might lose more valuables,”said residents.
“We have an example where in 31 area of the Core Houses section where there are no street lights. In 30 area of the section, we have street lights but they are not being switched on during the night… something must be done as a matter of urgency,” said some residents.
No immediate comment could be obtained from the area councillor, Kurebwa Javangwe Nhomboka as his phone was unreachable.
