Harare Mayor, Jacob Mafume and Zifa President, Nqobile Magwizi

Harare Mayor Cllr Jacob Mafume led a high-profile delegation on a site visit to the proposed location of a new state-of-the-art stadium in Highglen on Friday.

Accompanied by ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi ,Cllr Stanely Manyenga, chairperson of the council’s standing committee for sports and ward 30 councillor Charles Chidhagu who is the local councillor, the mayor toured the area earmarked for the new stadium, which is set to become a premier sports destination in Zimbabwe.

Located in the Highglen area, opposite the Highglen Shopping Center and near the Highglen Round About, the stadium will boast excellent accessibility, with Bulawayo and Masvingo Roads providing direct routes to the facility.

The nearby railway line connecting Mutare to Harare will also offer a convenient transportation option for fans.

The stadium’s proximity to suburbs like Glen View, Budiriro, Mufakose, Highfield, Glen Norah, and Kuwadzana will ensure that fans can easily attend matches, creating a lively and electric atmosphere.

The new stadium will complement Harare’s existing sports infrastructure, including the National Sports Stadium, Rufaro, and Gwanzura.

This development is expected to elevate Harare’s sports scene, making it a hub for sports development in Zimbabwe. With its strategic location, the new stadium is set to become a premier sports destination in Zimbabwe. The stadium’s construction is expected to create jobs and stimulate local economic activity, making it a win-win for the city and its residents.
