Scottland FC will host Nsingizini Hotspurs of Eswatini at the National Sports Stadium on 6 September 2026 in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round. The match comes after CAF lifted a five year ban on the National Sports Stadium on 21 August 2026, clearing it to host international matches again. This will be the first CAF fixture at the venue since 2021.
The tie will mark Scottland’s debut in continental football as Zimbabwean league champions . The match was initially scheduled for Francistown, Botswana but CAF approved Scottland’s request to move it to Harare.
In a statement the club said:
“We confirm that our CAF Champions League preliminary round, first leg tie against Nsingizini Hotspurs of Eswatini is now at the National Sports Stadium on September 6. CAF have approved our request to move the match from Francistown, Botswana to the National Sports Stadium. We now look forward to a grand re-opening of the venue and we bank on Zimbabweans’ support to make it a memorable occasion.” #Mabvira
Scottland has called on supporters to turn up in numbers for what it described as a grand re-opening of the National Sports Stadium.
