A dark cloud has befallen Turf community following the untimely death of Hundson Chiweshe, a Zimplats employee who passed on in a tragic accident on Friday night on his way from Gokwe.
Chief, as he was affectionately known, a Shift Boss at Mupani Mine, was involved in a road traffic accident on Friday, August 29 and it is suspected that he was on his way to Chegutu where he resides.
Groups around Turf are amass with condolence messages and participants are expressing their pain as some narrates their last moments with him.
The fatal accident occurred near 24km peg along Gokwe – Kwekwe road and it is believed that it happened between 7 to 8 pm. It is also suspected that he could have lost control of his vehicle since he is known for not being a fast driver.
Burial arrangements are yet to be announced.
The month of August was not so favorable for residents who reside around Turf following a chain of deaths which included that of Moses Manjengwa who was killed in a road accident, one Learnmore surname not provided and a lady only mentioned as Mai Kochoro, a wife to an electrician who worked at Mupani among others.
