ZIMBABWE Assemblies of God Africa (ZAOGA Forward in Faith)’s presence on the global map is largely due to the late national hero Archbishop Ezekiel Handiwangu Guti’s faith in God, ZAOGA Archbishop Professor Eunor Guti has said.
Addressing journalists on the sidelines of the ZAOGA FIF International Ministries 65th Anniversary in Harare, Zimbabwe, Prof Guti attributed the growth of the church to her late husband’s obedience to the will of God and an unwavering faith in the creator.
“We are here and he has gone, but he did not go with his God neither did he go with Jesus. He used to say this church is not mine. I am just a servant to show you the way of Jesus Christ. This is the church of Jesus Christ.
“We call upon the God of Ezekiel. The God who appeared to him. The one who said to him, ‘Sin not, Fear not’ and the one who said to him, ‘I am going to raise this church,” said Arcbishop Guti.
ZAOGA FIF, a ministry founded in Zimbabwe, 1960, by Guti has growth since its formation during the colonial era in 1960.
Currently the church has presence in over 170 countries including South Africa, Zambia, Mozambique, the United Kingdom, Australia, United States of America, New Zealand and Argentina just but to mention a few.
“Baba Guti the legendary, loved people. He had a heart for people.
“Ezekiel was a man of prayer. He went outside the nation to other nations, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, planting churches.
“He planted 172 churches in other nations. He affected six (6) continents in the world.
“His heart was for souls. Not just souls, but to improve the lives of those people. God was using him because he had a heart for people,” added Archbishop Guti.
ZAOGA FIF International Ministries recently held celebrations across the globe in honour of Guti, who was promoted to glory on the 5th July, 2023.
Thank you for your positive journalism on the life, ministry and legacy of the late hero of faith apostle E H Guti. I am personally a recipient and an extension of his love and obedience to his God given call to ministry. Indeed he was an icon of gigantic proportion.
