What began as a small, focused prayer gathering has grown into one of Zimbabwe’s major interdenominational Christian events, with the Daughters of Virtue (DOV) Mega gatherings attracting thousands of worshippers from across the country and beyond.
Founded and led by Prophetess Memory Matimbire, DOV launched the Mega All-Night Prayer series as a platform for believers from different Christian denominations to come together for prayer, worship and spiritual renewal.
The inaugural Mega gathering was held in 2018, marking the beginning of an annual event that would steadily expand in size and reach.
Between Mega 2 and Mega 6, held from 2019 to 2023, the gatherings grew into large public events. During this period, the phrase “Ndadhiniwa”, meaning “I am fed up” or “I am tired”, became closely associated with the movement as worshippers gathered around messages of spiritual transformation and perseverance.
Mega 7, held in 2024, further expanded the event’s reach, attracting participants from other African countries and members of the Zimbabwean diaspora.
The eighth edition, held at Glamis Arena in Harare in October 2025 under the mega brand theme “Not After The Cross”, reportedly drew more than 40 000 people.
The event featured international Christian ministers and gospel musicians, including Apostle Michael Orokpo, Ebuka Songs, Minister GUC and Takesure Zamar Ncube.
The momentum generated by the annual Mega gathering is supported by DOV’s regular prayer activities, including Wednesday morning prayers at Prophetess Memory’s mountain in Glenorah, Harare, as well as daily lunch-hour fellowships.
A defining feature of the DOV gatherings has also been their interdenominational character, with believers and church leaders from different Christian backgrounds encouraged to participate.
The programme combines extended periods of praise and worship with prayer and prophetic ministry, with gospel musicians playing a prominent role in the gatherings.
The ninth edition of the Mega gathering is scheduled for October 2, 2026, at Glamis Arena in Harare, with the event expected to continue DOV’s tradition of bringing together large numbers of worshippers for prayer, worship and fellowship.
