A Jengamvura Secondary School teacher in Chiweshe has been jailed for 20 years after he sexually abused a Form Two pupil whom he lured to his house.
Itai Baradza was sentenced to 20 years in prison by Bindura magistrate Sheilla Nazombe after being convicted of sexually abusing the minor.
The court heard that on June 29, Baradza lured the pupil to his house, where he exposed him to pornographic material before sexually abusing him.
The matter came to light after the incident was reported, leading to Baradza’s arrest and subsequent prosecution.

The court’s decision underscores the seriousness with which sexual offences involving minors are treated, particularly where the accused is in a position of trust or authority over the victim.
The identity of the minor has been withheld to protect him.
