Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) Matabeleland South Province won the Uniformed Forces Category and the Overall Best Exhibitor Award at the Matabeleland South Agricultural Show held from August 20 to 22, 2026.
The three-day event, held under the theme, “Unlocking Opportunities Through Collaboration”, saw ZPCS showcase its agricultural production, livestock projects and inmate skills-development initiatives, in line with its organisational philosophy, “From correction to connection: building industries behind and beyond the walls”.
Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Honourable Albert Nguluvhe toured the ZPCS exhibition stands and commended the province’s standards.
In his keynote address, Honourable Nguluvhe called for national unity and collaboration to drive provincial and economic growth.
“True development and sustainable economic growth are only achievable when we stand united as a people,” he said.
Deputy Officer Commanding Matabeleland South Province Assistant Commissioner Jabulile Mathema received the two awards on behalf of the Officer Commanding, Commissioner Cleopas Mzila Moyo.
Assistant Commissioner Mathema credited discipline and teamwork for the achievement and urged officers and staff to maintain focus.
“This remarkable achievement is a testament to what can be accomplished through discipline, teamwork, and unwavering commitment,” she said.
“I urge all our officers and staff to remain hardworking and focused. Let us not rest on our laurels, but rather use this victory as a stepping stone to reach even greater heights in our daily duties, agricultural endeavours, and our primary mandate of rehabilitating offenders.”
