Gweru City Parking has lived to its billing at the ongoing Midlands Agricultural Show after drawing crowds who were captivated with the company’s modern parking management solutions and customer service initiatives.

The parking management company’s exhibition stand attracted motorists, residents and stakeholders who came to gain knowledge on smart parking systems, payment options and how parking revenue is helping to develop the Midlands capital.

Gweru City Parking General Manager, Alphanette Gemu said the agriculture and business extravaganza provided a platform to educate the public on the importance of paying for parking services and how the revenue contributes to the city’s service delivery.

“We are happy with the response we have received at this year’s agricultural show,” Gemu said.

“People now have a better understanding of our operations and how they not only created job opportunities for locals but have helped traffic management, improving roads, purchase of service equipment as well as other critical council deliverables.”

Gemu added:” The company’s participation at the show goes beyond simply exhibiting its services. It provides an important platform for Gweru City Parking to listen to motorists, educate the public and showcase the innovations shaping the future of parking in Gweru.”

He said the show provides a more relaxed environment for motorists and the company to engage openly about parking services, challenges and opportunities for improvement as motorists are an important stakeholder in the city’s parking system.

The Gweru City Parking boss said the show was a platform to make suggestions and share experiences regarding parking and continuous engagement with the people being served as well as debunk misconceptions surrounding parking and enforcement.

One motorist, James Chiseko who visited the stand said he managed to gain a better understanding of the benefits of Gweru City Parking operations to the Midlands capital.

“Previously l just thought Gweru City Parking was after making profit but after today’s visit to the stand l now appreciate the immense benefits it has brought to the city including managing traffic, remitting revenue to help council improve service delivery that benefits us,”he said.

Visitors to the stand were taken through demonstrations on cashless payment platforms, clamping procedures and the company’s digital services expansion to make parking more convenient.

The company’s official said feedback gathered at the show will help improve their operations and help build stronger future relations with stakeholders.
