….Sekuru Sabau celebrating his 100th birthday in April 2026, walking with the walker donated by HPCT”
By Bigboy Madzivanzira
It is with a heavy heart that Health Promotion Clinic Trust – HPCT and CAN Africa Network Zimbabwe announce the passing of Sekuru Sabau, who went to be with the Lord yesterday at Parirenyatwa Hospital.
Sekuru Sabau celebrated his 100th birthday in April 2026. A year ago, he received home-based rehabilitation from HPCT after a fall. Through HPCT, he was donated a walker, and with support from his relatives for therapy services, he regained mobility.
Sarah Kububa, who engaged HPCT for Sekuru’s rehabilitation, shared with us early this morning:
“We announce the passing on of Sekuru Sabau at Parirenyatwa yesterday. As a member of the family we thank you for being with us in his rehabilitation.”
We were not able to attend his 100th birthday celebration, but we rejoiced to see photos of him standing and walking with the walker we provided. That moment reflected the impact of community care, rehabilitation, and dignity in aging.
Sekuru Sabau lived a century of wisdom, resilience, and grace. We thank God for his life and for allowing HPCT to walk with him in part of his journey.
Our deepest condolences to the Sabau family.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
“The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.” Psalm 112:6
