Popular apostolic leader Daniel Matamba, widely known as Madzibaba Benjy, has called on citizens not to heed the calls to protest on 31 July, urging for the prevailance of peace.
Said Madzibaba Benjy:
“I am against these so called protests as they are self destructive to the country’s economy, destroying business and infrastructure.
I urge citizens to maintain peace .As the Apostolic sect we are praying for peace.Protests have negative repercussions…learners will fail to attend to schools, workers fail to go to work etc.
“On Friday 31 July will be at kuMasowe, praying and we are confident that peace will prevail.”
Madzibaba Benjy called on law enforcement agents to take tough measures and arrest those caught disturbing peace.
“I am calling on the police to reign in on those planning to protest or those caught demonstrating.
Vanhu vanokanganisa budiriro yenyika ngavasungwe… Zimbabwe inyika yakanaka yakasiyana nana South Africa…we will never tolerate violence'”.
Madzibaba Benjy paid tribute to developmental projects done by the Second Republic led by His Excellency, President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
“If you take a look, President Mnangagwa has done a lot in developmental projects, roads rehabilitation, dams construction, buildings infrastructure etc.We don’t want people who try to derail progress.”
He said the Apostolic sect is fully behind the Constitutional Amendment 3 Act.
“We are fully behind Constitutional Amendment 3 Act…we would like the President to extend his tenure to 2037 or even 2040.Even God is even happy with President Mnangagwa’s leadership.We totally support Zanu PF and we don’t accept protests”.
