HARARE — The Zimbabwe Football Association has confirmed the appointment of Ms. Yvonne Mapika Manwa as its substantive General Secretary following a competitive recruitment and interview process.

The appointment was announced by ZIFA on Wednesday, 1 July 2026.

Ms. Mapika Manwa previously held the same position from 2023 to 2025 and returns with what the Association described as extensive experience in football administration and governance.

“The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Yvonne Mapika Manwa as the substantive General Secretary of the Association,” ZIFA said in a statement issued by its Media and Communications Department.

ZIFA said the appointment “marks an important step in the Association’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its leadership and advance its strategic vision for the growth and development of football in Zimbabwe.” The ZIFA Executive Committee congratulated Ms. Mapika Manwa on her appointment and wished her success as she assumes her new responsibilities.

The Association also thanked Mr. Norman Gwangwadza, who served as Acting General Secretary, for his service and contribution to ZIFA.

ZIFA added that it looks forward to the continued support of all stakeholders as it works to “grow, strengthen and transform football in Zimbabwe.”
