Harare – Zimbabwean creators registered with the Zimbabwe Council of Copyrights will start receiving royalty payments for 2026 from 1 July, ZICCO has confirmed.
The Council said the payout will follow its constitutional guidelines for distributing royalties equitably to members. It described the exercise as part of efforts to maintain transparency and keep lines open with artists and rights holders across the country.
Harare-based members will get SMS alerts telling them when to collect payments at the ZICCO Head Office. Those outside Harare will have funds sent through approved electronic payment channels to make access easier.
ZICCO said the disbursement highlights its role in safeguarding creators’ rights and making sure artists are paid fairly when their work is used. The Council also reminded members to update their contact and banking details to avoid delays.
Beyond this round of payments, ZICCO said it is working to strengthen copyright enforcement, boost revenue collection, and improve systems for distributing royalties to all registered rights holders in Zimbabwe.
