Harare– The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development will host an Intra-Ministerial Wellness Ride on Saturday, 13 June 2026, as part of efforts to promote fitness and wellness among staff and the public.
Dubbed _“Pedal for Progress”_, the ride will be held together with the ministry’s parastatals and is open to all cyclists. It will start at the New Parliament Boulevard and finish at Belvedere Technical Teachers College.
Organisers have laid out three route options to cater for different fitness levels:
– A 26.8km route from New Parliament Boulevard to Belvedere Technical Teachers College;
– A 13.3km route starting at the corner of Mazowe Road and Harare Drive;
– An 8km route from Kensington Shopping Centre.
The ride will run from 07:00 to 09:30 hrs, with a minimum pace of 12–15 km/hr. Safety measures include the “no helmet, no ride” rule, with ZRP Traffic Police and ambulances on standby.
The event aligns with the ministry’s push to build a culture of wellness within government and its agencies.
