HARARE — Political and global affairs analyst Dr. Abigale Mupambi has been named the Outstanding Female Political and Global Affairs Analyst of 2026. She received the Excellency Award at the inaugural Global Business Achievers Network Awards held on 29 July 2026 at the Hyatt Regency Harare, formerly Meikles Hotel.
The ceremony brought together leaders from business, government, academia, media and civil society to celebrate individuals and institutions that have demonstrated leadership and made a difference across different sectors.
Dr. Mupambi was recognised for her work in political commentary and international relations. Over the past years she has become a regular voice on national and regional issues, offering analysis on elections, governance, constitutional matters, and Zimbabwe’s foreign policy. She has also spoken on the country’s engagement with regional bodies such as SADC and the African Union, and how local developments connect to wider global trends.
Much of her work has focused on breaking down complex political events for public understanding. Through media interviews, panel discussions, public lectures and written commentary, she has provided context on how policy decisions, diplomacy and governance affect citizens. Colleagues note that her analysis is research-driven and aimed at encouraging informed public debate.
Dr. Mupambi has also been active in conversations about women’s participation in leadership and policy spaces. She has used public platforms to speak about the need for more women in political analysis and decision-making, and has engaged students and young professionals on political science, international relations and civic education. Her sessions have emphasized critical thinking and the role of evidence in understanding politics.
The Global Business Achievers Network Awards were launched this year to recognise excellence and impact. Organisers said the category for political and global affairs analysis was introduced to acknowledge professionals whose work helps shape how people understand governance and international affairs.
Receiving the award, Dr. Mupambi said credible analysis is important in a fast-changing political environment. She added that informed discussion supports better decisions by citizens, institutions and policymakers, and encouraged continued participation by women in political and policy conversations.
The Hyatt Regency Harare hosted guests from across industries for the inaugural event. The award adds to growing recognition of women taking leading roles in political commentary and governance discussions in Zimbabwe.
More details on future editions of the Global Business Achievers Network Awards are expected to be announced by the organisers later this year.
