Zimbabwe Air Charter Safaris has expanded its aviation services with the introduction of a dedicated VIP Charter Service, a move expected to enhance tourism connectivity and support Zimbabwe’s growing reputation as a premium travel destination.

The initiative marks the latest phase in the company’s long-standing operations within Zimbabwe’s private aviation sector. Rather than launching a new airline, Zimbabwe Air Charter Safaris is strengthening and modernizing its existing charter services to better serve international tourists, business executives, diplomats and luxury travelers.

The expansion comes at a time when Zimbabwe is intensifying efforts to improve access to its world-renowned tourism attractions, including national parks, wildlife conservancies and heritage sites that are often located far from commercial flight routes.

Operating along key safari corridors, Zimbabwe Air Charter Safaris has established itself as an important aviation partner connecting visitors with remote lodges, luxury camps and conservation areas across the country.

Chief Pilot Anastasios Zaverdinos said the company’s vision is to provide world-class aviation services that support both tourism growth and customer convenience.

“Our vision is to provide safe, reliable and efficient aviation services that connect visitors to Zimbabwe’s unique tourism destinations while offering world-class charter experiences,” he said.

According to Zaverdinos, the new VIP Charter Service has been developed to meet evolving travel preferences, where flexibility, privacy and time efficiency are increasingly valued by travelers.

“Today’s travelers value convenience, comfort and time efficiency. Our VIP charter offering is designed to meet those expectations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism,” he said.

Tourism stakeholders have welcomed the development, noting that improved air connectivity remains one of the critical factors in unlocking Zimbabwe’s tourism potential. Efficient charter services enable visitors to travel seamlessly between multiple destinations, allowing them to experience more of the country within shorter travel periods.

The expansion also aligns with Government efforts to modernize the tourism industry through increased private sector investment and improved infrastructure. Under the leadership of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Barbara Rwodzi, Zimbabwe has continued to promote innovation as part of its broader tourism development agenda.

Zimbabwe Air Charter Safaris says its strategy supports the objectives of the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2), particularly in strengthening tourism infrastructure and encouraging investment.

“We believe aviation is a critical component of tourism development. By improving access to remote destinations, we contribute directly to tourism growth, investment opportunities and local economic development,” Zaverdinos said.

A key part of the company’s expansion is its fleet modernization programme, highlighted by the acquisition of the Pilatus PC-12 NGX aircraft. Renowned internationally for its reliability, passenger comfort and ability to operate from short and remote airstrips, the aircraft enables access to destinations that would otherwise be difficult to reach.

“The investment in modern aircraft demonstrates our long-term commitment to excellence, safety and the continued growth of Zimbabwe’s tourism sector,” Zaverdinos said.

Industry analysts believe stronger aviation connectivity generates economic benefits beyond tourism by encouraging longer visitor stays, increasing spending across accommodation, transport and hospitality sectors, and creating employment opportunities in communities surrounding tourism destinations.

Zaverdinos said sustainable growth remains central to the company’s long-term vision.

“Our objective is not only to transport passengers, but to contribute meaningfully to the development of tourism, support local communities and promote Zimbabwe as a world-class destination,” he said.

As global tourism increasingly shifts toward personalized and exclusive travel experiences, the availability of premium charter services is expected to strengthen Zimbabwe’s competitiveness within the regional tourism market.

With improved accessibility, modern aircraft and expanded services, Zimbabwe Air Charter Safaris is positioning itself as a key contributor to the country’s tourism growth while supporting national efforts to attract higher-value visitors and investment.
