” I am a servant of the party committed to mobilising grassroots support for national development and unity.”
The above remarks were once made by Zanu PF Shurugwi DCC Secretary for Mines and Energy Crispen Mahara when he mobilised resources for the upgrading and rehabilitation of Midlands province’s dilapidated roads and infrastructure.
Mahara, a well known businessman and Midlands Miners4ED chairman is a hard working man who has economically uplifted himself and those around him, especially at community level. But what makes him a cut above the rest as a successful miner and entrepreneur is his humbleness, down to earth character and work- alcoholic ethic particularly for his party Zanu PF and the development of the country and unity as a whole.
Mahara has in the past supported national events like Independence Day, Heroes Day and National Unity Day to mention some.
This year’s national independence day celebrations will be held next Saturday, 18 April in Maphisa, Matebeleland South province but as is custom, provincial as well as district commemorations will be conducted throughout the country.
As a true servant of the people Mahara has already extended his hand of generosity to the province that has seem him honoured with an appreciation award by Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Owen Ncube.
The accolade bestowed on Mahara had this citation:
“This certificate (Certificate of Appreciation) is presented to Mr Crispen Mahara in recognition of the immense contribution towards the successful hosting of Midlands Provincial 46th Independence Day commemorations,”reads the certificate presented to Mahara by Minister Ncube.
According to the party’s Bottom-Up media information desk the award is a testimony of the tireless work Mahara has carried out in grassroots mobilisation and upliftment not only of the Midlands community but the country as a whole.
“This recognition means a great deal to all of us. Keep up the excellent work honourable Crispen Mahara,”said the desk.
During the Constitutional Amendment Bill No 3 public hearings Mahara was instrumental in mobilising grassroots support for the legal reforms throughout the process by organizing educative awareness roadshows where he provided transport and food among other logistics.
“His efforts were publicly recognized when he received an award from the high office for being one of the most outstanding contributors during the process,”the information desk noted.
Shurugwi was hailed for holding peaceful and inclusive consultations on the bill.
Mahara said: “This bill is the best direction to follow in achieving Vision 2030 for an upper middle income economy status as rightfully led and championed by his Excellency President Doctor Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa and we are 100% behind him and CAB3.”
