Member of Parliament Hon Chamu Chiwanza last week (29 January )made waves by spearheading a highly successful Constituency Development Fund (CDF) consultative tour across Mhondoro-Mubaira. Accompanied by the CDF Committee, Hon Chiwanza engaged with residents at key business centers and community halls, allowing them to voice their development priorities and influence the allocation of CDF resources.

This unprecedented approach received widespread acclaim as it fostered strong grassroots participation and unified the community, attracting representation from local leaders, government departments, and party officials. Key topics included the urgent need for rehabilitating clinics, schools, and roads, with residents expressing gratitude for Hon Chiwanza’s prior contributions that have significantly bolstered local infrastructure.

‎The visit also served as a platform for Hon Chiwanza to reaffirm his commitment to social welfare, exemplified by his donation of 100 blankets to elderly residents and additional 5 blankets for the maternity ward at Rwizi Clinic.

He addressed community concerns regarding road reconstruction, assuring them of the inclusion of the Harare-Mubaira Road in the national budget. Highlighting the importance of community involvement, Hon Chiwanza encouraged residents to adopt the ethos “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo” and complement government efforts with local resources. A notable political shift occurred as prominent activist Chihera publicly joined ZANU PF during the tour, prompting hopes for further unity and collaboration.

Overall, the consultative tour solidified a new benchmark for participatory development in Mhondoro – Mubaira, reinforcing a vision of inclusive progress for all.
