Botswana has officially announced its ambition to co-host the 2028 Africa Cup of Nations in partnership with South Africa.

The announcement comes as the CAF Executive Committee is currently meeting in Rabat to define the outlines of the next continental competitions.

For Botswana, this project represents a new opportunity after the failure of its solo bid for the 2027 edition.

The stakes at this Moroccan summit are high, as CAF recently confirmed that the CAN will move to a four-year cycle starting in 2028.

This southern African duo will face serious competition, notably from Morocco and Egypt, which are also eyeing this historic edition.

The final decision of the governing body is eagerly awaited by African countries and football fans.
